Last Thursday I took my Gram to visit her sister-in-law at the nursing home. As we entered my great aunt's room, she was sitting in her wheelchair watching TV. She was so pleased and surprised to see each of us enter her room, all she could do was cover her face with her hand and exclaim, "Oh dear!" When asked what she was doing, she said, "I was just watching Price is Right, bidding on a kitchen set and I was gonna win." It was just so cute, as she was quite serious about winning that kitchen set!! What a precious visit we had with her, as her and Grandma visited, reminiscing about things from years ago. Talking about no plumbing, only using outhouses, and how my aunt baked 3 loaves of bread each day and 1 pan of biscuits. I thought how hard they worked each day of their lives. Here, I just go to the store and buy a loaf of bread, so fast and simple. These gals knew how to make do and work hard. Through the whole visit, Gram held her hand, or always had a hand on her shoulder or arm around her. It was easy to see the personal touch meant so much. What a blessing to me, to take time out of my day and take Gram to the nursing home...and listen to wonderful stories of days gone by!! Blessings~ Tammie

Sounds like you had a nice visit. You should write down some of the stories while they are fresh in your memory for your chicldren.

Tam,
I hope you captured that memory not only in your mind but in photographs, and on paper, in your special way with words.

Yup, it was certainly an enjoyable time together...I treasure it more than words can say. I didn't get to take any pics of the day, but yes, I did write all about it in a journal that I keep memories of my Grandma in. Took me a couple of days to get it all written down straight! LOL Tammie
