What are some of the craft things your grandmother did that you can do?
And what are some of the things she did, that you cannot do?

Things she did that I CAN do:
Crochet garden, can, dehydrate, pump, haul, heat, water-- laundry on a scrub board or rocks cook over an open fire cook in a wood fired cook stove
Things she did I can NOT do: (much longer list)
tat
make everyone feel special
always at the door with a cup of coffee and a slice of pie (day or night) when someone showed up
sew without patterns (she would look at pictures in magazines and make clothes that looked just like them)
make divinity (mine is always runny)
be diginified no matter her circumstances

This Grandma did that I can do: ~crochet ~sort of knit ~sewing ~cooking
Things she did that I can't: ~she is as patient as the day is long ~give very wise advice! ~always have the door open, and food waiting for anyone who drops by ~the list could go on, and on, and on....LOL

My paternal grandmother could crochet and knit.
My maternal grandmother could function on 3-4 hours of sleep for years and years and all at the same time, sew everyone's clothes, cook, clean and care for her children.
I don't crochet or knit and I can't function on 4 hours of sleep--not even on 6 hours of sleep...

What a great thread.
How special to know someone who could tat.
My maternal grandmother could crochet, and I love it as well.
She was also very good at darning.
