As most of you know I had Ashleigh, age 14 here for a five days this past week.
I was worried that I wouldn't know how to entertain a teenager, but I discovered that girls, no matter their ages all love the same things.
We rented 5 movies of her choice and watched all buy one of them. We opted out of Castaways but both had seen it before.
We did a manicure, pedicure, facial and other girlie makeover things..Ever have oatmeal on your face as an exfoliator, followed by a mashed banana as a masque. Yum..LOL
We took pictures of all our adventures and then did a couple days worth of scrapbooking with them to commemorate the things we did.
Of course we ate out, and went to the mall. That girl can shop.
A fun time was had by all.
Next to come will be Zach...age almost 17, boy that one might be tougher..

Hi Everyone..........I am new and I am Carolyn's childhood friend and was her neighbor for many years growing up.
My favorite subject is my grandson, Jacob who is 6. We spent 2 weeks on Lake Michigan and I just returned today. It was a wonderful time. He got up every morning to go fishing with Grandpa and stayed with him the whole 3 or 4 hrs. that he was there. He even caught the biggest fish of the vacation. That thrilled him to death. He is the love of my life and aren't grandchildren so much more fun than our children were?? I know that is because we were a lot busier then. I guess that is why God made grandparents! ;D

Thanks all..............he is a sweetie. I guess it is a good thing that I joined you all in the weight loss group. The other day I was trying to be the "coolest grandma" around. I was climbing on the monkey bars and it started to get windy. Jacob said that he better get down because it was getting windy and it might blow him off. I said, "Oh, me, too." He then said, "Grammy, you don't have to get down. It would take a tornado to blow you off!" (The sad thing was that he said it with a straight face, not like it was a joke!)

(((Susan))) Don't feel bad about it. My Daniel says things to me all the time like that, then he later says he's sorry that he didn't mean to hurt my feeling.

Oh Susan...out of the mouths of babes ....I am sure he didn't mean it. Pretty soon though Jacob will be telling you to get off of them...because a small breeze might blow you off. My grands have said things like that to me too. I try to laugh...but I know it is true..Sigh..Let's do this girlfriend!!! We can , Ya know!!
