I finally got to go and visit my Grandmother today, haven't seen her for a month due to our lovely winter weather. I picked her up at her apartment at 9:00 AM, and we went to our local Pamida store (like Shopko), then hit the Value Dollar store, then spent time at the library together since we both love books and finally went to the local Pharmacy. (which also doubles as a gift and craft store.) Did we have a fun time together or what! I was glad Gram was feeling good and we just browsed and visited and enjoyed being together. Finally we went to the local nursing home, they have a little Cafe in there. We ordered Chicken Dumpling soup and ate it together and just chatted about anything. What a neat time with my Grandma, I'm so thankful for each time I can visit her!

That is wonderful Tammie. If she doesn't get to the shops etc. much I bet she loved seeing what was around. I bet she enjoyed her soup as well.

How nice, sounds like a great visit! Did you tell Gram hello from all of us and give her a hug too? ;D

Well, of course I gave Gram a hug and big Hello from the H&H gals!! *wink* One thing that I discovered that was kind of nice, was Gram was glad to be able to help me. See, instead of her feeling like I'm chaufering her around town, she helps me with carrying my bags to the van, opening doors for me. I made her feel needed. I forget that she sometimes feels not needed, like she is always the one needing help. And when I called her last night and thanked her for going shopping with me, her voice lifted and she said, "I was so glad to be of help." Then it dawned on me how much we all like to be needed and feel useful. So I was glad to have Gram's help as we shopped, and she felt needed as well, two blessings in one disguise!!
