Letting go of the first is hard br. I will be thinking of you. But I think it was hardest for me when the nest was empty..Oh my...how I suffered then..

In the last 24 hours I am more worried about giving up my baby things than kinder or uni. And I can't part with them just yet.
I did have one cry for that cute little 3 year old that he was, or thereabouts. We had a great time when he was little. One article says to talk about that, but dh said it would probably go over his head. I was thinking I wanted him to know how I felt about those times. Then I thought of how no teen wants to know how their Mum is upset by them leaving, and I don't think I will be now. Now that I have organised his food, I'll have to take a step back with that as well. I'm sure he will be fine. The kids there are nice dh says, one took him on a tour of the rooms just to be kind. They have to be tidy or their dishes get thrown out by the cleaner lol.

Oh, Br, I do feel for you. I'd be a wreck, veering between anxiety, tears, and relief that I don't have to wake up in the early hours and worry about whether he's home or not. Not to mention being able to clean his room, my eldest ds is Mr. Messy. Hmmm.
I hope the handover goes well and that you manage to get a little time on your own to reflect.

Thanks for remembering Deed. And thanks MV.
I went to bed after MV's post, which is 8:30pm on Saturday 11th.
We got to the uni. on time. We were to be there between 9 and 1pm. We got there around 9:30 I think. They didn't have a key for him so he had to wait quite awhile. The girls were being silly but not too much. We enjoyed the gang gangs that live across from the building, they used to be at my Nana's house.
He got a temporary room until the 15th in the building for international students. So he hasn't unpacked much. The girls and I made his bed and hung up his good clothes. We went to the supermarket to buy some microwave food to last until the 15th so he doesn't open his food boxes. The permanent rooms are much nicer, so it will be worth the wait.
We dropped off another couple of things he needed this morning. There were two kangaroos outside his room so he had a view of kangaroos up close as he ate his breakfast this morning, perhaps.

When we got to the hotel without ds it took me about 6 hours to go through to make sure I wasn't abandoning him lol. I went over it and over it. He does have a bit of paperwork to finish and has to move things himself, not very far on Wednesday? DD8 said he will make lots of new friends, they weren't worried at all.

I asked ds about the kangaroos, they came up to the sidewalk, amazing.

Br, sorry it must of been difficult to leave your son at Uni. But think about all his adventures to come and try to think about his first visit home. Your young man has grown up and you have done your job well.
Sending hugs to your mommie heart.

Big hugs Linda, I can't even imagine how hard this must be on you. Sounds like your son is going to do just fine and your dd has it right, next phone call from him, you are going to be hearing about all his new friends and adventures.
