Since my dd Lori is coming in tomorrow to spend a few days and go with me to the local Apple Festival, I was thinking about this question...
Do you enjoy when you G and F kids come to visit? Do you look forward to it and do you wish they could come more often.?
I love seeing my children come and since they all live out of state, (cept for LoriT) now I wish th ey could all come more often.
If your kids aren't G and F, do you look forward to them leaving the nest or do you think you will suffer empty nest syndrome..

Maybe not the empty nest syndrome. I have five children and three step-children all spread out so I think that will help there. I don't enjoy the thought of having few or none at home though. I have been thinking on it a little as ds is going away early next year all being well. I think it will be a good age for him to leave home, and we are trying to make it as easy as possible in the first year, by trying to get a place in a residential college that is catered as well. It is not going smoothly so far, I have to try a bit harder to get it all to work. More applications and hopefully smoother saving next fortnight.

I was thinking today whether ds will still want to come home for the long weekend in his state in March. Would he like to go on the bus, would he like us to go there instead, will he be too busy.

Br, it was my experience that my ds wanted to come home every chance he got until he got a girlfriend at college. Then he wanted to stay with her and not come home. I loved it when it came home but it was always hard to say goodbye again each time.

Thanks Cara. Will try and see if I can get tickets for him to go on the bus, if we don't have the money to go there. Will have to make a note of it somewhere, on the to do list.
