We had a wonderful visit with my niece and great nephew!
I was sooooo glad I took my niece the food. I offered to put the food in the fridge for her. She had 1/2 gal. of milk, 3 eggs, and a partial container of fruit cocktail.
She nearly cried when I started pulling food out of the cooler. She says "now I won't have to go to the store" Then she DOES start crying and says "who am I kidding? I can't go to the store. We don't have any money." She wasn't kidding either. We sat and talked budgets, finances, etc. They have NO savings, huge debt, and she really doesn't have ANY money til payday on Friday. (even then most of it is gone for bills)
So--- I"m glad that my little offer of meals will be well used, and we'll do it again in a couple weeks, before the baby gets here. Then the church will feed them meals for a week or two after the baby comes. I'll check things out after that and see what is needed.
I can see a copy of the TWG and Financial Peace are probably in order as well.
