This is the latest thing I have made. It is a shrug/sweater. I crocheted it with Bernat Christmas Ice in Navy. I didn't use a pattern. You measure from wrist to wrist across your back and make a rectangle that length. I made mine fairly wide because I wanted bigger arms, but you can make the width of the rectangle the same as your upper arm measurement for a tighter fit. When done with the rectangle, you fold it in half longways and then measure from your underarm to wrist. Sew the rectangle together from each end the measurement of your arm. Then you reattach your yarn and crochet around the open circle until it is as long as you want it to be. It makes it's own ruffle and collar.

Too cool Cheryl! Just beautiful! So if you were to make one for someone you have never seen, like to sell, is there a standard measurement to sew the underarm seam?

Well, you would need them to give you a measurement from underarm to wrist so you could sew the sleeve the right length. It would be easy to do with the measurement from wrist to wrist and the under arm to wrist measurement.
