I am not sure. I only learnt to startch when I was in high school the traditional way, then there is the spray on starch for ironing.

In our shop, our grocery, I was amazed they still have the old-fashioned boxes of starch.

I have this stuff called Stiffy fabric stiffener made by Plaid. You can get it in a crafts store. I have had my bottle a long time, it came from AC Moore's and was $2.55 for an 8 ounce bottle. You can use it straight or mix it with water.
