This is a hat I made for a CAL I am in called a hat a week. It was supposed to be done in 3 colors to look like a beach ball, but I used the variegated I had left over from a sweater. Amanda is my unwilling model - please excuse the chocolate milk below her lip!

I made it by hand. I bought a Knifty Knitter for Katie for her birthday. Hope she likes it - if not I guess it's mine!

They are both beautiful.

I have never thought to crochet hats. We have more need of them in the mountains, and beanies are not flattering. The girls wear hats to collect wood for our fire.
