Is anyone making their own Christmas cards this year? I did last year, and I plan on doing it this year as well. Also, show me a picture of what your cards look like! Here is a sample card that I did, just to see if I liked it. Of course, I didn't have any red red paper, but I will be buying some! Amber

Cute Amber. No I have never taken the time to make holiday cards. How many do you make and what do you think the cost per card is??

This year, I think I will be making between 25-50 of them. I haven't nailed the number down exactly, I need to work on that, LOL. The red cardstock, I will get at Hobby Lobby, roughly 2.50 for 50 sheets. I can get 2 cards out of each sheet. The patterned paper I got for 3 for $1 and should be able to get about 40+ squares out of each sheet. The bows I beleieve for $1.66 for 12 of them. The Happy Holiday rubons are 2.99 for 12 of the pharses. The enveoples, I paid $1.50 for 12 of them at Hobby Lobby on sale. If I did my math right, it would some to roughly $0.86 cents per card. People at work wonder why I make my cards when you can buy them for less than I make them for. I said that I like giving homemade cards because I think it shows the extra effort and love that is put into them. Then of course, I get the whole, where do you find time thing. *eyeroll* I make time for what I like to do........ Ok sorry for the long explanation! Amber

Amber, I just finished up my Christmas cards today, most of them were from rubberstamps and others from pieces of this and that. I agree its the extra love and effort put into them. I'm a little sad that my cards are signed sealed and ready to go. I made around 125 cards but I started in July, it was so much fun. By the way I love your card. Niceday (Linda)

Great explanation Amber. Thanks for figuring that out for me. I have always said I wanted to make my own cards but never made that effort. I wondered what the price per card would be. TY
niceday, we sure would love to see your card
