A Week On The Homestead June 26- July 1st

Hello all, I am new at starting on of these threads, so please bare with me ;D

This week is going to be a busy one.
Today we got all of our Hurricane & Camping equipment out and serviced it all or replaced what needed replacing.

Generators are both good to go
Three Gas cans filled for generators.
Kerosene heater cleaned and serviced.
Camp stove cleaned and ready to go
Camping gear ready.
Grills have been cleaned, new lava rocks, and two cylinders of propane ready!
Small charcoal grill cleaned
Charcoal Briquets and lighter fluid on hand.
Tent has been sprayed with scotchgurd for water resistance
Lanterns have new wicks
12 new canisters for lanterns
New batteries
8 Flashlights ready
Candles bought ;D
Wind proof matches, and long matches on hand.
6 Cases of bottled water
6 cases of canned foods
Pet carriers ready
Pet bedding washed and dried
Pet supplies in containers and ready to go.
Overnight bags (1 each) ready
Towels for bathing, toiletries, t.p, etc...
Tires on camper filled.
Camper has been cleaned from top to bottom.

We have the camper packed and ready in the event we have to leave. All we have to do is back up to it, hitch it up and pull on out ;D

Now I am exhausted! Tomorrow holds lots more excitment for us

My homestead today if very quiet. I am back from dd's and as most of you know by now I took a tumble off the front porch swing down on the cement floor of the porch. Big ouchie...
So I am will be spending the next couple days doing as little as possible.

But I need to get busy after I am feeling better. I have company coming July 8-11...my friend Connie who was my neighbor here for over 5 years..She is coming in from NC and is staying with me. Can't wait to see her.

Then my granddaughter Ashleigh will spend a few days with me around July 18th.

Today will be doing a bit of laundry, and just resting.

~~ June 28th ~~

This morning was a wet and busy morning for us. Rain expected all week for us not bad since it waters the garden & lawn for us.

Daniel had a derm appointment and doc said he is good to go, no more treatment needed and to come see her as needed ;D

Stopped at the grocery store for hamburger meat and some fresh produce, and Ice Cream for the guys.

I have loads to get done around here today still!

~ De-clutter Craft Closet (Haven't started )
~ Vacuum (done)
~ Clean litter box (done)
~ Make WW Sugar cookies (setting in the fridge)
~ Gingerbread cookies for Daniel (setting in the fridge)
~ Make pudding cups for freezer (done)
~ Bake Daniel a cake (done)
~ WW bread in machine (done)
~ Need to make Rye & White bread as well (rye done)
~ Laundry to do (done)
~ Go through magazines & catalogs and toss (half done)
~ Clean out cabinet above washer & dryer
~ Have Daniel go through his stuff and PURGE!!!
~ De-clutter drawers in end tables
~ Check on Mother after her surgery today (done)
~ Gather stuff for yard sale / donation (half done)

~~~ June 29th ~~~

Today was another busy one for me. I got to talk with Mother for a short while this morning and she seems to be doing alright. She will stay in the Hopsital for 6 days, then she goes home.

Laundry done, folded and put away (done)
HM White bread for the guys (done)
Cleaned 2 ceiling fans
Scrubbed Daniel's bathrooms
Cleaned out two kitchen cabinets tossed out the old pots & pans ;D
Reorganized my Bathroom cabinets
Vacuumed the house
Mowed the lawn
Cleaned the litter box
Supper got done early (crock poted it)
One shelf of the craft closet is done ;D
Emptied all table drawers.

I have to clear out the holiday closet (where we store holiday items) They are all going into the attic when Don gets a chance.

I am trying to get everything cleared out before Mother comes the 2nd week of August. That way I don't have to worry so much about stuff being scattered about.

I have lots to either sell in a yard sale or to donate to Goodwill or the women's shelter. I have some books and magazines to donate to the elementary school library and Arts & Crafts department.

Can you tell I am trying to get rid of most of my stuff? I am going for simplicity!! The less I have the better I'll feel.

I'm going to Greenville in the morning to pick up some Goats milk for soap. Now I just have to find a recipe for it.
I will also go looking for small containers for all the wonderful lip balm and creams & such that Carolyn posted.
