Today my eight year old daughter brought back a great DVD from the library. shop.abc.net.au/browse/product.asp?productid=731868When looking closer I realised it was a very good quality DVD from a top show on our ABC called Gardening Australia. The children's show is quite detailed. Then the same daughter came home from the post office today and was so excited that her nasturtiums had flowered. She had planted the seeds into a pot with her Nana last holiday, in July. They brought their pots home in the car. I was doubtful but they came up and now they are flowering. We have planted some colorful sunflowers in the garden, I will be so happy when they come up, I know the kids will enjoy them. We have an old children's gardening book, and it was lovely to read it recently and see so many things we have grown lately in the book, like tulips. Our older boys were always looking for worms with Dad. It is nice for the younger ones to get into it now. The littlest two have their herb gardens and they are growing well.

Sounds like a great DVD! I have tried to get my kids involved in the garden/flowers, but no luck yet.

I have tried to keep lots of little picking flowers in our new garden for our littlest girl. It has worked so far.

BR, that sounds wonderful. Mine liked to *work* in the garden when they were younger....but as they've aged they realized it was work. LOL. The little one is really excited about our garden. Shane has been tilling up the soil and Clay, our little one, has been right behind him. And of course, the other two have been complaining about how much work it will be. Betcha they won't complain when they are lifting new potatoes and beans into their mouths, though. LOL
Thanks for sharing that. It brought a smile to my face this morning. So nice to know that there are children still interested in that sort of thing.
