the survival list is wonderful and seems complete br. Thanks for posting it. I try not to worry about a large emergency, but here in the mountains we loose power and water quite frequently. Course it is only for a few mintes to a few days. When we lived in the country when the electricity went out as it often did in storms we couldn't flush but here in the city when the power is out we still have water. They do occasionally shut the water off for a breakage or to work on the lines.

Yes I have seen those wind up lights on QVC on tv. They also sell a flash light that you just shake and it lights, (no batteries needed). Might be handy dandy little tools to own eh?

I have the shake up flash lights (got a bunch of them at an auction- really cheap) and gave them for Christmas gifts to the kids to put in their cars. . . . kept one for me of course. I also have squeeze flashlights-- you squeeze a handle as you are holding the light- and it powers the generator. We also have solar/hand powered radios--- we are frequently without power, here in the boonies. Gotta have light and music
