www.guineafowl.com/board/album/index.htmlThis is in case someone wants to find this link later on. I can visualise my childhood guinea fowl walking around, I am assuming it was on our farm, it could have been on another farm. I love them, and found this site about a week ago, and adored the background pictures of guinea fowl on another page.

My dd who just bought an old farm, purchased three guinea's. One of them was sickly and died but the other two are doing well. I never realized, being a city girl that they were so small. Sometimes my dh gets a kick out of the city slicker in me.

They are quite different looking aren't they. I grew up in the city as well and have never seen one as far as I can remember.

They are sort of hunched over and their feathers have spots. They are just so calm and peaceful and pretty to listen to.

I am sure your daughter will enjoy her guineas Car. I have just found out that they are good for pest control. Also that they tell you when there are snakes around. I wonder if that is why I saw them so much as a child, because we had so many snakes, and their owners needed the moral support? www.homestead.org/Poultry/VictoraVarga/GuineaFowl.htm
