Lately I have been wondering why some things of the past haven't mae a come back. In our fast paced society it seems like some things which have gone by the wayside would be revived by some enterprising soul.
For example - home milk delivery. I would LOVE to not have to go out and get milk. Of course, people would have to be home to get the milk, but what a convenience! And I am sure there are people who are willing to pay extra for that luxury.
Same with prescription delivery. I remember the man who used come and deliver our families prescriptions to the house. Of course, you can drive through the pharmacy, but having it come to you would be so much easier!
And the one I really wish was back - drive in theaters! I can't imagine that there is not a market for these - except that they take up "valuable" land. I would love to be able to cart my kids to the movies in their pjs - pay one price per car to get in, and bring my own snacks!
Any others?

We have Sonics here too but ours are to lazy to wear the skates. ERRRRR The next town over does have a drive in theatre in the summer months. I've never been but I've heard it's very popular. We still have one mom and pops pharmacy that will deliver to shut ins but I don't know if there is an additional charge or not. No milk deliveries though.

Definnitely drive in's. I use to love that. Michigan still has one A and W Root Beer Stand that delivers to your car. I always make sure to stop in when I visit home.
Home milk delivery. I remember as a child it came in clear and brown bottles with the card board top and we had a little box that he set it in for us. That little box is still in our families home today even though it doesn't belong to us anymore. Quite quaint..

Boy do I miss the Drive-In! We used to have 2 of them close by, one is now a car dealership and the other is a parking lot. I remember grandma getting her milk and eggs delivered. The milk came in clear or green glass bottle with a cardboard top and she always skimmed the cream off to use in tea. We have an A & W close by still, but the girls no longer wear roller skates. LOL It is always packed at lunch and dinner time. Oh I almost forgot, we used to have a Charlie Chip delivery too! I don't know if this was popular anywhere else but every week he came and you gave him back your empty tins of potato chips, pretzels or cookies and got a new one all filled! ;D I have I think 2 of the tins in my collection.

Oh yeah - Charlie Chips! He used to deliver to the nursing home where I worked in southern IN. I got them there. The dry cleaner used to come and pick up and drop off there too!

Australia must have been a dour place to be brought up in, at least in the country, chip deliveries. I shouldn't complain I lived near a Corner Store.
We had deliveries of butter, another of bread, and one of cordial.
Our milk was via the pet goat or cow.
When we lived in our hometown, after I was married this is, we always had our milk delivered. It was cheaper and fresher too. I heard that somewhere a company has started delivering more expensive milk in bottles! I am sure I heard that not long ago.
We don't here or in the last place we were in for a year, so we buy boxes of 12, ie 12 litres of UHT milk. A litre is about 4-5 cups.
Milk in Australia was clear bottles with foil lids I think.
The root beer places are only things we dream about when we watch TV.

Here we still have milk delivery at home, we have drive in theatre in the town next to ours, too. I don't take the milk service because he sells his milk $1.00 more than the store...

We still get milk deliveries here - or you can, 'we' don't. Actually, I haven't heard the 'moo' of the truck lately so maybe it's stopped in the last few months...?
As for A&W - y'all stop! You're making me drool with envy! No Root Beer here!
