So... yesterday was my baby's 5th Birthday. I can't believe it... seems like he was just a baby and now he's all grown up. Anyways... he chose to have a Pokemon party. Here are a few pics... The table before the party. I made each child a little "favor" by creating a "bagelope" from an envelope and decorating them with Pokeballs that I made with my circle cutter. I filled them with candy, crackers, a pencil, crayons, and a Pokemon bookmark. Here's a close up of the "bagelopes"... Tyler and Rocky waiting for the party to get started... Tyler and his best little friend, Jacob, waiting for the party to get started... and looking silly. lol Tyler in his party hat. The kids all got to make a hat when they got here. They could choose Oddish (which is what Tyler has on) or Pikachu. Pin the Tail on Meowth... Pokemon Bingo. The kids really enjoyed this one. I printed it from the DTLK Kids website. They have other themes too... I love that site! What's a Birthday party without the gifts??? lol And cake... Tyler and Jacob coloring. I printed off some Pokemon coloring sheets and made a little booklet for each kid. We also played Pop the Balloon. But the action was so fierce that Daddy wasn't able to get any photos. lol Oh, and Tyler chose mini corndogs and curly fries for his Birthday dinner... and everyone loved them. Thanks for looking!! Hope I didn't bore ya too much!

Thanks girls! I think everyone had a good time at the party. I have a sil who always wants to spend a ton of money holding her kids' parties places. I think its funny that those very same kids have more fun at my homemade parties. lol Oh... those bagelopes are made from plain ole envelopes. They are easy and nice for a little gift bag. You just seal the enevlope shut and trim off one of the short ends. Then score and fold at about ¾" in on the other 3 sides. Of course you can adjust these measurements to suit your needs. Then pop your hand in and open it up... flatten the bottom out... and tape the little corners to the bottom of the bag. Easy peasy!!! Here's a link to a PDF file showing how to make them. www.stampingpro.com/techniques_public_pdfs/envy_bag.pdfWe just got done diggin up dinosaur bones. You see the pic of Tyler holding the Smithsonian Diggin Up Dinosaurs thingy?? Its kinda neat... but very HARD to dig in. Tyler really couldn't do it too good... but he tried! Not to mention its pretty messy!!! Thanks, Grampy, for buying him that lovely gift!!!!! lol

Is that your baby photo behind Tyler in the avatar? What a great idea.
Our daughter turned 4 not long ago, and I have been thinking that she is nearly 5 ever since.

Yep! Thats me when I was 1 and Tyler when he was 1 in my avatar. People are always saying he looks alot like me, so I did that to see if it would help me "see" it.... which it didn't. lol

Once my husband made a polywhirl costume for our second son who is now 14. It was quite striking. It was like a sandwich board, made from cardboard I think, with blue house paint, then decorated with the whirl and white gloves on ds' hands if I remember right.

How fun!! Some of my fondest childhood memories are of Halloween costumes that my parents made for me.

That is nice to know Sherry. My Mum made one, I have black hair, so my Mum made an Indian costume from a jute? bag and frayed the edges and made a feather headress. I hope that isn't offensive Denise. I know my aunty bought us a cowboy type tent at some point.
I think I always wanted her to make me a flapper costume from the 1920s, my uncle taught dancing classes and he had danced on TV, so I learnt the charleston. It is hard to remember now.
I can't beleive you were able to make treat bags from envelopes. I got similar ones bought, and they are nifty how they open up. Not similar in look, just design.

I must point out we didn't have Halloween. Last year was the first time anyone I know dressed up for Halloween except my daughter the previous year. Our son dressed up for book week at school and I attended a function at our local hall with my costume on, not sure, maybe that was school too.
