"Summertime School Lunch Box Ideas Try freezing segments of fruit like, oranges, bananas or grapes. Make a double batch of healthy muffins and freeze them. Place them in lunch box and they will thaw by recess. Include healthier alternatives to junk food like pretzels, popcorn, crackers and cheese. On a hot day, include a small box of frozen juice. Add a spoon for fun! Freeze a water bottle overnight and top it up with water in the morning. Corn or vegetable fritters are great for a cold lunch. Cold home-made pizza is a good idea too. Mix a salad and put it in a container with a plastic fork (very grown up!) But don’t dress it as it will go soggy. Raisin bread, English muffins and pikelets are great for recess. Instead of plain bread try using pita, lavash or Turkish bread. Persevere and soon your child will be eating much healthier food and remember, if they see their parents eating well they will too."
