I must admit that I don't. At home when I was little we had the odd baked custard but not much else. That was a conscious decision my Mum made.

Growing up we had desserts most nights. But....dh and I do not. I am diabetic and count carbs so....Occasionally I see that he has dessert.

Only on weekends or special occasions. Very seldom do we have it during the week, unless someone asks for something specific. One morning as the boys were getting ready for school, I innocently asked for supper suggestions. Our little 8 yos piped up, "how about some dessert, you know that sweet stuff you never fix us anymore???" He's so cool......

I serve dessert almost every night. I think my guys would just flip out if they don't have it! LMBO

I very SELDOM fix dessert. I only do so occassionally - and that may or may not be because it's a special occasion. I've never been a baker - love cooking, but have never baked much. Most of my desserts here are of the fruit/berry sort, I guess; in the US it would have been strawberry shortcake. Mmmmm love cheesecake, though - if I am eating in a restaurant and have dessert, THAT is what I go for.

Not that often; hubby and I really shouldn't eat that much sweets, but either today or tomorrow, I plan on making a Caramel Apple Cheesecake Pie. I need to use up a cont. of Cool Whip I have in the fridge, and I wanted to make this dessert for sometime now.
My mother mainly made desserts during the holidays, or when company was coming for dinner, or when my father was home from work, after spending a few days on the road while working for the railroad.

Lynn - the 8yo's comment was funny. I do miss 'the things kids say'. My niece and nephew came up with some keepers. Out of the mouths of babes, eh?
We're making 'malt balls' Thursday at work - first time I've done them. We're making a double batch - me and one of the clients - hmmmmm...think I just heard bird wings inside the house - long story - anyway, a double batch so I can take a batch home for our Christmas do with the stepkids.
