All over France you can find these little Turkish restraunts specifically selling this wonderful dish. There is nothing like it. In searching for a recipe, I came accross this which looks like what we find here. Make sure to check out all the other great recipes on this site too. www.angelfire.com/country/fauziaspakistan/donerkebab.htmlThese are a couple of photos I took on vacation

Was the photo in France cupcake?
We have kebab shops too, I have been afraid to order one. Maybe next time I go to town and go to the mall where Coles the supermarket is, I will have to try one. I have to meet the train soon. I'll ask ds to help me out.

That is a great recipe. I haven't heard of the black pepper powder, sounds interesting. Here is a similar page. It all looks delicious. aww.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=42363Atm there is a pic of Steve Irwin's daughter with a koala for the Christmas edition of the Australian Women's Weekly.

Hi braided rug, thanks for the link, I am checking it out now. This shop in the photo was one that I took on vaction. It is in France. The seating area for this restraunt is accross the street actually under a large canopy. If you have the chance to try it, I would say, give it a try. If your kebab place is anything like it is in France, you won't be dissapointed. It really is a special treat. Some here have couscous under the meat and some don't.
forgot to ask, you don't have black pepper powdered in Australia? Sorry If it is a dumb question.

I wish I knew exactly what it is. Would it be the same as freshly ground black pepper? I think that is what you just said lol. We have our own pepper grinder. I found this on an Australia spice site: www.herbies.com.au/news/news_nov1998.htmlScroll down to read about pepper.

Yes Braided rug, I think it is the same. Here in France they sell pepper in both white and black, however it is more ground up to a powdery consistency than what I am used to.
