2 1/4 cups quick cooking oats 1 1/4 cups flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup butter or regular margarine 1 cup peanut butter, either creamy or chunky 1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp vanila about 72 chocolate candy kisses Preheat oven to 350° F. In a small bowl, combine oats, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, with electric mixer set at medium speed, beat butter and peanut butter until smooth. Beat in the sugars, then the eggs and the vanilla until well blended. Beat in the flour mixture just until mixed. Drop dough by level tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 13 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately press chocolate kiss firmly into the center of each cookie. Remove cookies to wire rack and cool completely. Yield: about 6 dozen cookies
