~This recipe requires the use of a mini muffin pan. Crust: 1 - 3 ounce package cream cheese at room temperature 1/2 cup butter, room temperature 1 cup sifted all purpose flour Filling: 3/4 cup light brown sugar 1 tablespoon soft butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 egg Cream the filling ingredients together. You will need some broken pecans. For the crust, cream cheese and butter. Then add the flour. Chill for 1 hour. Roll dough into 2 dozen balls. Flatten and press into the sprayed (use a cooking spray like Pam or you'll be sorry!) mini muffin pan. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of the broken nut pieces into the shells. Top with the filling. DO NOT OVERFILL. Bake at 325 for 25 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes and let filling set before removing from pan. These are kinda like a little mini pecan pie to me. We really like them at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'll see if I can post a pic.

I am always trying new American things that I haven't had before. This sounds really special. I didn't really appreciate the holiday aspect of it. I wonder what Tassie means? Sounds like an island off Bass Strait. I hope I can have a go at making some. Thanks for the recipe lynn. Do you have them in place of a mince pie for Christmas, they have dried mixed fruit in them?

I don't put that in mine, BR. My kids wouldn't touch them. LOL.
I have seen a recipe for them that contains dried cranberries. I think that would be good.
I have a recipe for Pecan Pie Muffins. Very good, but very rich. I got it off the Gooseberry Patch site when they had a message board a couple of years ago.
I'll post it.
