Creme Caramel
Makes 6
3/4 cup sugar (metric 250ml compared to 200ml) 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup carnation sweetened condensed milk 1 3/4 cups cream 6 eggs 1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 180oC. Combine sugar and water in pan, stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to boil without stirring, boil until golden. Pour caramel into base of 6 x 3/4 cup individual ovenproof dishes. Swirl dishes to coat sides with caramel. Combine remaining ingredients, beat lightly, pour evenly over caramel. Place dishes in baking pan with hot water coming half way up sides of dishes. Bake 25-30 minutes until just set. Cool, refrigerate. Turn out onto serving dishes. If desired, decorate with whipped cream and stawberries.
