I hope I get a chance to order my grits. I am completely in the dark about how to cook them, so while I saw this recipe I thought I would post it. Cheese Grits Recipe Brunch Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups grits 7 cups water 1 tsp. salt 1 lb. sharp cheese, grated 2 eggs 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 clove garlic, pressed 1 stick margarine Tabasco sauce Directions: Cook grits in salted water until thick. Add remainder of ingredients and bake in casserole for 45 minutes (about 350 degrees) From: recipes.epicurean.com/recipe/2956/cheese-grits.html

We love grits, esp cheese grits with seafood. Very popular in the south. My username on another board I was once on was "GeorgiaGalGritsLover". LOL.
How to cook them? No, I know you didn't ask me, but I'm going to tell you anyway....LOL.
Take a good size pot, determine how many servings of grits you want to make...ie for one serving you will need 1/4 cup grits to 1 and 1/4 cups water. Add a little extra water due to steam. When your water is boiling, pour your grits in. Turn on low, cover and simmer for about maybe 10 minutes. Stir occasionally. If you find they are getting too thick, add some water or milk, just a little at the time, use a wire whisk to incorporate. Salt and butter to taste. Enjoy! My guys like them with scrambled eggs and bacon.

Thanks Lynn, I really do appreciate the help with the grits. What to serve them with helps as well. I can understand the username, I am very passionate about porridge. If I find my shopping list I will put the bacon on it. Is it actually a ham steak though? Or with the rind?
