This should be interesting if I can keep it going lol Tomorrow when the kids come home from their weekend w/my SIL, we are going to plant our seeds. We are planting tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, lettuce, maybe a few others. Dave has the grow lights downstairs for his plants, so hopefully the seeds will do well using those. I've never grown anything from seed--we usually buy starter plants. I planted a bunch of bulbs in the fall, and I can't wait for them to come up. It's still pretty cold here, so I don't think I'll see any crocus for a couple more weeks anyway. Thankfully I had the foresight to draw a "planting diagram" after I planted everything so I'd remember what I planted and approx. when they're supposed to bloom. Kathryn & Lauren each picked out tulips that they liked. We also have Orientalis, Anemone, crocus, fall zonatus, hyacinth, and daffodils planted. I can't wait to see all my pretty flowers. This is the first year we really planted a bunch, so I'm hoping it looks nice when they come up.

I got so much fun out of our new tulips last spring, I'm sure you will love them and the other bulbs as well. The girls will love them too.

I love tulips...always have. Kathryn picked a yellow and red variety (not really my cup of tea--red and yellow anything reminds me of McDonald's LOL), and I can't remember what Lauren's look like, but I know where they're planted, so I'll just need to wait for them to come up

Ooh despite out 20 degree weather, Dave said he saw some bulbs coming up outside. I think it may be my crocus and moondrop (is that the name, not sure). I'll check when I brave the cold to take the girls to the bus stop.

Hmm I just went to start the car to warm it up, and according to my diagram, the leaves poking up are Lauren's tulip's. Is that right? Do they pop up and then bloom later? They're not supposed to bloom until May. Can you tell how much I've paid attention in the past?? LOL

Here in TN the green leaves pop up first. Probably a good 4 in of them show before we get any buds for the blooms. Does that help?

Sounds like spring is trying to come in your garden Michelle. Let's hope so. I'm getting really impatient! LOL Kathryn saw some leaves of my Anemones coming up, and asked if she could pull them up! She thought they were weeds lol I am very excited for my weeping cherry and flowering cherry trees to bloom. We just got them (after blooming time) last year.

I am just seeing your post now I got to thinking after I posted that that i am really silly. Of course the leaves will be there first...it's not like the ENTIRE flower/stem/leaves show up when it's time for it to bloom! I had a good laugh at myself over that one! ;D

My Anemones have bloomed...at least I *think* that's what they are. They're a very pretty yellow. I'll ask Dave when he gets home, and I'll take a pic to post too.

My Mum was asking me if I put some in, but I said no just ranuculus (sp?). Maybe you have a similar flower to mine, they come in those shades.

I took pictures of the flowers in bloom in my garden. I will get them uploaded here soon. It is beautiful here today, so I went out for a bit to do some yard work. Last summer we put lattice under the porch, and the leaves couldn't go under there any more, so they gathered in front--right on top of all my bulbs. I went out this afternoon and got them all picked up. Felt so good to be outside. Now I need to do the side yard where there are more leaves. In getting rid of the leaves, I found my hyacinth, which looks like it will be blooming very soon.
