will enjoy this author, Ronda Rich. She is a southern gal with a weekly syndicated column called "Dixie Divas" and had smashing sucess with her first book called, "What Southern Women Know." I just finished her latest, a work of fiction, "The Town That Came A-Courtin'." Very good and very entertaining.
She paints a very accurate portrayal of southern life.

Things like big Sunday dinners spent with friends and family complete with mashed potatoes, fried chicken, butterbeans and strawberry shortcake. Sittin' on the front porch admiring everyone's flowers. Talkin' about what Sister So and So had on in church. (Now we don't do that in our family) The southern allureness of batting your eyelashes at your sweetie to get what you want...lol The gracefulness and charm of being a southern gal....one of those things, you just have to be southern to get it.... here's her website BR. www.southernallure.com

At least now I know how to make vinegar pie, still have to think about it though, vinegar in a pie???
"Vinegar Pie
1 stick margarine, melted and cool 1 ½ cups sugar 2 Tbsp flour 1 Tbsp flour 1 Tbsp vanilla 2 Tbsp apple cider 3 eggs 1 9" unbaked pie shell
Combine the six ingredients. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes."

Vinegar Pie is quite tasty, BR. When I was growing up, our elderly neighbor made them quite often. My sister and I would always agrue over who was going to get the first slice. LOL
love your graphics, btw.

I enjoy that "something" that you Southern gals have that I don't. I can pick out a true southern gal really easily, but I can't really name what IT is that makes them that way. This from a northerner who has been living south of the Mason-Dixon line for quite a while now. I really will go home ladies, I just have to wait till the Army sends us back north. LOL

In Australia when I was growing up we had Belle of the Ball! It was the nicest lady at the dance, am I making sense.
We also have a cafe nearby called Tallulah's, no I can't pass the test, I can't even spell it at the moment lol.
Where does the line go Melody? Maybe it can go across the Pacific, I can cheat a little.

I have just printed the vinegar pie recipe if I haven't already, maybe if I practise making it I can have an honorary membership.
Is Memphis below the line? Aren't I dumb? DH has been to Memphis.
Oops, it must be, sorry.
