Well, I a trying to get into a "no discretionary spending mode" I haven't bought anything for 2 days (Sat I got some buttons and wiggle eyes - LOL!). I am going to try and control myself for the month of March.
I am heading to Pigeon Forge on the 11th to meet my best friend from high school. She comes from Lexington, KY and we meet one weekend every year to get together. We generally eat and shop. My shopping will be limited, but I really, really need a weekend away to sleep late and eat what I want without having to corral a kid in a restaurant or share my food!
Anyone want to join me on the no spend spree?

Jayne I so understand! It is only the 3rd and I am struggling so! I bought lunch at Hardee's and took it to Katie's school to have lunch with her. I got Burger King the day before. Ugh. I bought a book online. I just need a keeper!

I think it is hard for all of us. We are a society of eater-outers....KWIM. I will try to join you Jayne, but it is going to be hard for me not to spend as we are moving and that means $$$ but I will try to make it thru the month only eating out once a week and that is good for us. LOL
Hang in there girls

What is hard for me is the girls. When I pick Katie up she whines she's hungry. I just end up driving through somewhere because I am tired and don't want to have to come up with something for them to snack on. Gotta work on that and buying craft supplies!

I so need to do this. I overspent big time today. My dh is going to kill me tonight.......I just couldn't resist.....I had to buy the Walk The Line DVD....y'all know what a music freak I am. And then Walmart had oxford classic shirts in beautiful spring pastel colors for Easter....I bought each one of my guys one...Shane too. He's gonna kill me....
I don't struggle too much with eating out since Shane's triglyceride scare, but it's other things....I promise you my car could go to Hobby Lobby on it's own.....and I love spring/Easter decorating.....
Help!!!!!!!

I don't think we decorate for spring in Australia, I have been trying to think about it. You will love the swap then Lynn.
Since we have been getting fruit delivered each fortnight I find the snacks have been easier. We also try to encourage them to eat bread.
Having said that, I have been struggling with dd9 about the other kids' Mums coming to school with food for them. DD wants me to do that as well.
I won't be spending anything until the 14th as we have paid the bills and today bought enough milk to last, (we are getting the bread delivered) and that is it. They are going to the show/fair today with only $10 each and then that is it.

www.ericas.com/crafts/magazines/countrycraft.htmTake a look here, BR. Nice springy ideas. Generally speaking, when I think of spring decor, I mean renewing what I have by putting out more spring type items.....like a wicker basket full of tulips, some bunnies, maybe a fresh wreath on the door with spring time accents. A container of geraniums, fresh white linens on the table. I put away all the wintery type things, like throws/blankets. I may decorate my table with a basket of lemon grass with paperwhites....things like that. I've bookmarked the above site...I like to look at these type magazines for new ideas....and many times I can redo something I already have for little or no money. Click on the seasonal link on the sidebar of the above site. Cute things.

Good luck to each of you. Not spending in a spend, spend, spend world is so hard. I've blown the budget big time this month. I purchased the plane tickets for me and Ryan to go to Phoenix to see my brother. I went ahead and purchased them now because I finally found a pretty good price. My plan is that I will have them paid for (off the credit card) before we actually go in June.

Doing pretty good...still tweaking the plan...we decided two Sundays a month would be our dinner out times...I think that is fair ...I know that we will fail if we don't get a treat once in a while...plus it gives us something special to look forward too ;)KWIM??..... We are both getting an allowance and we cut up all the cc's and put the check cards in the safe!!! ...I don't carry the checkbook with me and I am really tight with cash( don't like handing over the green)...How are you all doing???
