Yes Lucie I am quite proud!. I use to get alot of the Nazi comments in high school, but I learned to ignore them and besides that Hitler was Austrian not German. LOL That is how much they knew. Germans are loving and giving and caring people and they love children so I guess they can't be all bad huh>

You know.... I had a babysitter, who was from German parents and she was the sweetest and the best babysitter I had. So, yes, you're right, Carolyn.

Hmm that's casting my mind back a long way. We both worked for the same bank, but in different departments and on different floors of the building. I knew him as I had started off as a teller there and I met all the staff eventually as we cashed their salary slips. (no direct credit back then)
Well, he'd been promoted again (he's 7 years older than me) and there was a farewell lunch for him that my boss was attending. He decided that, at 22, I was too old to be single so dragged me along in the hope that he could do some matchmaking. Dh asked me out to dinner the next day, and the rest is history!

Hi Miss Violet,
What is your favorite color/flower/food?

Hi Lynn, you've got a version of my favorite color in your sig; I love burgundy, red, deep rose pinks...
Violets really are my favorite flower, their scent is divine. But I love all flowers, like older-style roses, lilac, daisies, freesias, jonquils - scented ones are my favorite!
As for food, don't have a favorite, just love most things! Eating and cooking are popular pastimes in our house!

Hi Miss Violet!
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

Hi! I'm lucky enough to have visited a number of countries as we travelled between the U.S. and Australia by ship (FIVE times - Dad had itchy feet and Mom hated flying!). So if I could snap my fingers and just land there without being stuck on a plane, I'd visit a couple of those cute little villages in Wales to check out their gardens and then I'd zip over to the States to have a look around a couple of Amish towns. Hm, maybe a quick peek at a couple of gardens in France too, in Provence (love lavender!) and at the Palace of Versailles. I'm told there are some pretty nice old gardens around Italy too, so maybe a quick trip there as well.

Usually whatever the kids have on! ;D I tend to listen to the radio when I'm in the car, so could be anything depending on my mood. I like a bit of everything from classical to hip hop!

Miss Violet, if you could have lunch with any person in the world, (that person can be someone living today or someone deceased), who would it be?

Good grief, Michelle, how did you think of that one?? I'm not great with choosing just ONE of anything (have you noticed??). Maybe having 3 kids has made it impossible for me to have ONE favorite.
I would love to have lunch with any of:
These people are all deceased:
My Grandmother Gela
My Grandmother Sash
My fiancee Andrew
My cousin David
My Grandfather Henry
Jesus
These people are alive:
Several authors
Amy D. (of the Tightwad Gazette)
Stephen Fry
And all great gardeners, both past and present, including Edna Walling.
Now to narrow that down to one......if I look out the back window, I'd say Edna Walling, but then Stephen Fry would be wonderfully interesting, and being alive makes it easier. Then again I could learn so much from Amy D. and I'd love to hear how she's coping with teenagers. Aw, can't I have them all??
